We work closely with our fabric artisans to develop our unique fabrics, an exceptional relationship in India where most fabric produced for export is controlled by middlemen. In that system, the fabric buyers never see the artisans and have no idea how they are paid or treated.
In contrast, MarketPlace can be sure that our fabric artisans' operations are fair and open. The relationship is one of shared learning and collaboration, as both MarketPlace and the fabric artisans are challenged to create new colors, combine different skills, and devise fresh looks every season.
