MarketPlace works with small groups of fabric artisans who are keeping alive traditional weaving and dyeing techniques. They block print by hand, hand batik and weave the fabrics that become unique MarketPlace products. These exacting and labor-intensive practices increase employment for artisans in and outside of the city.

This blue and the bonus stitching on the shoulders perfectly match an Indian skirt purchased elsewhere, so yay. On the con side, the material is very light so only appropriate for summer ... and the skirt is a fall skirt, so boo. On top of it, this top is a lot longer on me than on the model so I am taking it to my seamstress for consultation. I am keeping it but unsure of how much use I will get out of it. What I really needed was the Anya top in the blue but it did not look as it would be restocked so I took a chance on this alternative.

The Tavisha top fits me perfectly and has a very flattering neckline. The hand detail adds interest to the top and and is beautifully done; blouse is very well made. Love it!

This is the 3rd time I've ordered from Market Place of India. The clothes fit well and are lovely. Plus, they are cotton, so much cooler in a hot climate.
