Reading a newspaper was simply not part of the artisans' lives. Many of the women cannot read or write and they have little free time. Now, thanks to the cooperatives' weekly newspaper discussion groups, the women have become enthusiastic consumers of all types of news. The articles, chosen by an artisan on a rotating basis, are read aloud and then discussed, giving the women the opportunity to learn, share, be inspired, and, sometimes, laugh. Each group keeps a record of the articles for reference.

Neckline too wide for me but otherwise a really cute top
Aug 27, 2019
By Lyn
The fabric and detailing on this are great and it could be a wonderful top to wear for most anything. However, on me, the neckline is cut very wide so is not as flattering as most other tops. It would look good on someone with broad full shoulders -- someone not as bony as I am:). I'll wear it, but not as much as I would if the cut were a little different.

Such a cute top

Love the color, the little squares, and the touches of hand embroidery. I will be able to wear the top this winter while we are in Arizona and next summer when we are back home in Oregon. I love supporting the women who made it.
