At the start of a new year—though 2026 is already well underway—I often find myself reflecting on resolutions. I’ve learned that the big, ambitious ones rarely last. So this year, I chose something simpler and more realistic: kindness. It’s something we can practice daily, if we remember to keep it front of mind.
I began with being kinder to myself, letting go of the endless should haves and could haves that quietly steal joy.

So here’s a gentle invitation: share the story and products of MarketPlace. Think of someone—a friend, a colleague, even a stranger who compliments your outfit—who might enjoy MarketPlace. My daughter, once firmly a jeans-and–T-shirt person, now chooses MarketPlace clothing for work. Wearing these garments carries a story of women in India whose work supports their families and strengthens their communities.

Sharing that story is a small kindness on two sides. It offers the person you’re telling something meaningful to connect with—beautiful clothing with purpose—and it honors the artisans whose skill and dedication make each piece possible. In a world where so much feels beyond our control, this feels like something steady and positive we can do: one thoughtful choice, creating a quiet ripple that reaches further than we might expect.

Share your thoughts with the artisans?
