Exceptional style in two colors of medium-weight textured 100% cotton with yarn-dyed stripes. With black and white stripes on the front, and brown and tan stripes on the back, collar and sleeves, the long jacket has notched lapels, button front, and dropped shoulders. Hand embroidered artistry embellishes the front and shoulder. Generously cut - consider sizing down for a less oversized look.

Safiya Begum Khan: Embroidery Artisan, WARE

When Safiya got married, her husband told her to give up her job at WARE. When he lost his job, however, Safiya convinced him to let her rejoin WARE. This was their lifeline when he lost his job again permanently during COVID. When other businesses were closing and laying off, MarketPlace paid all the artisans a subsidy although they could not work. “I was the only person receiving money. This changed the way he looked at me and my job.” He had never understood the commitment and support she felt. She further impressed him when she argued with authorities on his behalf and convinced them not to fine her husband for unauthorized street sales. Now she feels her husband has new respect for her work and her abilities. “Things are much better than before.”

Wonderful fabric and design

Love this jacket! The hand stitching is so beautiful and so well done. The fabric is a great texture and with body. For me in Colorado, I will be able to enjoy this year round. The colors are rich and varied. Love the length. I purchased an XS after reading the indication that it is oversized. I am 5'5", 130 lbs. Fits well. It also washes well. I immediately washed it with a half cup of white vinegar as Marketplace suggests to secure the colors. And I have never had any problem with the colors on anything I have purchased after washing this way. I hung the jacket to dry as indicated and I can't detect any shrinking. Thank you!

Beautiful color combinations and interesting embroidery make this an eye-catching duster. The weight is perfect as a light cover as the weather cools.
