A subtle green and off-white block print button-front dress can be worn as a shirt or jacket. With shoulders that are a little dropped plus a drop-waist and soft gathers, it fits like a slightly oversized shirt. Hand embroidery embellishments on the bodice. Generously cut - consider sizing down for a less oversized look.

Uma Sanjeev Vartha: Supervisor and Embroidery Artisan, Ranphul Mahila Mandal

Uma had many challenges in her life. After her father, brother and husband died she was left on her own caring for 2 children, her paralyzed mother, and her widowed mother–in–law. With little education, she had trouble finding work to support everyone. When she joined Ranphul Mahila Mandal she discovered a place where women are valued for their dedication and ambition. Uma was more than willing to take on the responsibility of making a new group succeed. In fact, she showed a natural ability to lead, and trained as a supervisor. She has been able to handle disputes, finances, and priorities. To manage the travel her job requires, she saved up for a down payment on a scooter. Of course, only after carefully calculating that she could handle the payments.

Celery colored dress

The dress is crafted very professionally and fit. The fabric is good quality. However, the color was not as represented. The green was more of a dark olive with a contrasting pinkish color. The print design is also larger than the picture represents.
I ordered it for an event because of the understated print, but will keep it for casual wear. For that reason I gave it a lower score.....if the print were as pictured I would have given it five stars.

Lovely colors

Love the design, the colors and the quality. The hand stitching really gives lovely highlights. It does run large - I usually wear a medium, and a small has plenty of room.
