Vivid blue-green kaftan dress in soft double gauze. The embroidered chindi patchwork notch-neck yoke has a front pleat for a great sweep. Side slits. Chindi patchwork colors and patterns may vary due to the variety of upcycled fabrics. Generously cut - consider sizing down for less oversized look.

Renewing Materials, New Lives

MarketPlace's Chindi collection makes scraps stylish while training new artisans. The chindi, small fabric pieces left over from cutting garments, are recycled into new clothing, accessories and embellishments in a variety of ways. After being cut into uniform pieces, the chindi are sewn together by trainees learning to sew straight and accurate seams on the sewing machines. Look for the C sign next to products to see the creative ways the artisans have incorporated chindis.

After I retired from the ministry, I wanted unusual, creative clothes to express myself after years of suits and business dresses. Marketplace clothes are a joy. I look the unique fabrics, the beautiful hand embroidery and the uniqueness of style. This kaftan/dress is a wonderful piece of workmanship. And I love knowing that my purchase helps women in need.
