Our favorite A-line swing jacket is a lighter-weight cotton in Dabu block prints made with natural dyes. Rich red, green, and gold florals reverse to red and green prints on black. Hand embroidery embellishes the lapel on both sides. High-low curved hem gives a graceful sweep.

Summer Fest 2024: Nurturing Young Eco‐Warriors

Every year, a Summer Fest is held for the children of the artisans, featuring a week of exciting events filled with fun and learning. Activities include sports, arts and crafts, drama, and writing.

In 2024, the theme was The Environment. The children eagerly discussed ways they could help, like conserving electricity and water, reducing plastic use, and recycling. They enthusiastically made posters on protecting our environment and performed lively skits to showcase what they had learned.

Shillong Reversible Jackets for the Win!

There are two lengths of the Shillong jackets and this is the long. I prefer the long as it's a nearly four season outer layer in the US Southeast. This jacket can really push the boundary of staying warm and being cute!

The lack of a closure isn't a problem when worn with a shawl or heavy scarf when it is cooler.

The game changer is the reversible feature! And it's a big feature! Two jackets for the price of one. Pockets no matter which side you choose.

The Shillong is worth every penny as they wear well and fade very gently over the years. I wash these jackets and all my MarketPlace pieces in cold water and hang out of direct sunlight to dry. 10 years plus of wear is an amazing thing!
