Threads Of Wisdom

Recently a group of more‐experienced artisans (affectionately known as the "Golden Agers") got together for a thought‐provoking event. The subject was proverbs and sayings, words that capture some truths about life. Each woman selected her favorite saying, some words of wisdom that she felt made a difference in her life. The goal was to use these words for daily inspiration. They embroidered them on cloth bags which they could use daily.

Vimla Gupta from Prerna Cooperative said, "The other artisans and even people on the street ask me what is on my bag and what it means. I must have explained it to over 25 people!" Her saying, "Nothing is permanent in this world, not even our troubles" has brought her a lot of comfort.

I admire Marketplace and have been buying items from the sales page (all I can afford) for 20 years. In search of a stylish lightweight shirt jacket to wear at work, I have been watching the sales page for a couple of years now and with the Nadiad I have succeeded! This is the Marketplace India version of something I might see at Duluth Trading Co. in that as well as being BEAUTIFUL, it is ranch Woman functional for summer eves. In my 60s and usually wearing an XL, as per the description I bought the large and the boxy fit is perfect over tees. Take note, Despite being a quilted material, this cotton poly blend and not super warm! The only reason I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars is that pockets over the menopausal chests is not the best look. Hand pockets, "Yes!", chest pockets not so good. Make something similar without the chest pockets and I will have to figure out how to afford it at full price!

I had been watching this shirt since they made it and when it went on sale I bought it. I am looking forward to wearing it when the winter comes around. Well made and looks, feels & fits good.
