Pepper Chicken

Pepper Chicken


    • 4 tsp vegetable oil
    • 2 medium sized onion finely chopped or ground
    • 1 lb Bone-in chicken thighs, skin optional
    • 1 tsp ground turmeric
    • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
    • ¼ cup water
    • Salt to taste
    • Chopped cilantro leaves to garnish


    Heat the oil in medium-high heat in a pan. When the oil is hot, add onion and stir until the onion turns golden.

    Add chicken pieces and stir it for 5 minutes.

    Add turmeric and black pepper and mix well.

    Add salt to taste.

    Add enough water for the ingredients to come together and stir for 2 - 3 minutes.

    Close the lid and let it cook for 25 - 30 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.

    You can add more water if needed based on how much gravy you want in the dish.

    Garnish with cilantro leaves [optional].

    Best served with plain rice.
